How many family reunion favors should you order?

Choose who receives a favor before counting what to order. A reunion with 37 guests from 14 households could need 37 individual favors or 14 shared ones. Both counts can be right; they describe different plans.

Put the recipient beside the count

Use one row per person or household receiving an item. Keep that choice consistent within each group. If children receive a different favor, put them on a separate list rather than quietly adding them to both totals.

Include relatives who will receive a keepsake after the gathering only if that is part of your plan. Assign someone to take those items to them. A favor left at the pickup table does not reach an absent relative by itself.

Before ordering, check the list with the guest organizer. An invitation count includes people who may not attend, while an RSVP count can miss gifts intended for relatives who are staying home.

Give every extra a reason

Extras might cover an expected late reply or an item the organizer wants to keep. Write that reason beside the quantity. There is no automatic extra percentage in the planner below.

In a hypothetical household plan, 14 households plus two chosen extras means 16 items. For one favor per guest, 37 confirmed recipients and no extras means 37. Keep the chosen count on the packing sheet so another helper does not add a second reserve later.

Personalized extras need their own decision. An item printed with one person’s name cannot fill every gap in the list. Check whether a shared event name would suit the extra item and whether the design supports it.

Convert items into the unit being sold

Read what one listing quantity includes. A group photograph can show several products even when the price is for one item. A pack may contain a fixed number of identical items rather than a mixture of names or designs.

Suppose you need 28 items plus two extras, and the product is sold in packs of four. Thirty items require eight packs, supplying 32 items and leaving two beyond your chosen count. That is a counting example, not a pack size or offer from our shop.

Use the planner for one matching product group at a time. If the order needs separate names, sizes or variants, divide it into the entries the listing requires before paying.

Record pickup against the same list

Label household items and name a pickup helper. Mark the recipient when a favor is handed over. Keep items for absent relatives in a separate labeled bag, with the delivery helper’s name on your organizer sheet.
