How to order matching family ornaments for several households
By ReunionGoods · Reviewed
Give each combination of wording and product option its own order row. Agree on the shared design first, then record the exact text and quantity for each household. This keeps matching artwork from turning into seven copies with the same name by mistake.
If you still need to decide who receives a gift, start with the holiday keepsake quantity guide. This checklist starts after you have that recipient list.
Agree on what matches and what changes
Choose the design, shape, printed sides and packaging option together. Decide whether every household gets the same year. Then list the fields that change, such as a family name or grandparent title.
Matching does not have to mean a shared surname. One household might want “The Carter Family,” another “Martínez & Reed,” and another “Nana & Pops.” Check whether the chosen listing supports each version, including accents and ampersands. Do not shorten someone else's wording to make it match.
Keep the words already in the artwork on your order sheet too. Changing a custom name does not change a fixed reunion or Christmas heading.
Count copies of each exact version
Here is a hypothetical batch using one design and the same product option:
- A01: “The Carter Family | 2026” — two identical copies.
- A02: “The Martínez Family | 2026” — two identical copies.
- A03: “The Reed Family | 2026” — two identical copies.
- A04: “Nana & Pops | 2026” — one copy.
That is seven ornaments across four personalization versions. The row labels A01–A04 are organizer references, not text to print.
Follow the seller's instructions for entering those versions. Use a quantity of two for an identical pair only if the listing allows it. Different names may need separate cart entries or an agreed batch format. Do not put all seven names in one personalization field unless the seller has confirmed that method.
An image showing the front and back can depict two views of one ornament. Check what one purchase includes before converting your rows into cart quantities.
Separate delivery from the printed name
For each row, record who receives it, who will hand it over and where it needs to arrive. A household name printed on the ornament is not a shipping address.
If everything comes to one organizer, label the wrapping with the row reference and recipient before distributing it. For direct delivery, confirm whether the seller requires separate orders for different addresses. Check each order's delivery estimate; one batch does not establish a shared arrival date.
Keep addresses and contact details in a private organizer copy. The spelling-check copy shared with relatives needs only the wording and quantity.
Match every preview to an order row
If previews are offered, match each one to its row before checking the art. Read the name, accents and year, then check the shape, printed sides and quantity against the order confirmation. Make sure the same family was not repeated across several previews.
For a correction, name the affected row and copy the complete replacement wording. Check the revised preview against that row; approval of A01 does not approve the other three versions. Keep the final approved wording with the order references so the person wrapping the gifts can use the same list.
Use the family keepsake wording check to confirm fixed words and editable fields before copying the batch into Etsy.
